These are the favourite plants of both caterpillars and butterflies!
Each seed for the next butterpillaflora must be unlocked in turn by completing the tasks shown. Unlike other Fairyland plants, butterpillafloras cannot be sprinkled with Diamond Dust or Fruiting Dust to speed up their growth - they must be grown naturally. They all take exactly 3 minutes to first 'sprout'.

If you manage to spot the matching caterpillar within an hour since the Butterpillaflora started sprouting (after approximately 3 minutes), it's status will be "Nurturing a chrysalis". After two hours, the little caterpillar will become a beautiful butterfly and fly away, leaving behind a lovely sparkling flower. She will return later to your garden if you have tropical fruits on any feeding table.

Note: The flowers are planted in Clumps of Grass which are available between Late-October and Mid-November with the Poppy (Olive Branch) or in late January and Mid-February with the First Flower of Spring (Raindrop). We've used this pot because it's pretty, but you can plant the butterpillafloras in any other pot you like :)

Bonus seed
The Rainbow Butterpillaflora is a little different to the others. There is no Rainbow Caterpillar, however the Rainbow Butterpillaflora can host ANY other caterpillar's chrysalis. In addition, you can have multiple Rainbow Butterpillafloras hosting a chrysalis in your Garden at the same time and, when hosting a chrysalis, they can be sprinkled with Diamond Dust and Fruiting Dust to speed their growth. The Rainbow Butterpillaflora also sometimes works a little magic on the chrysalis it is hosting, producing a beatiful Rainbow Butterfly instead of the usual butterfly for that caterpillar (this happens approximately 50% of the time!) Finally, under certain conditions, the Rainbow Butterpillaflora is capable of producing a beautiful Rainbow in your Garden (but you'll need to figure out how to do it!)
Upon successfully harvesting this plant,an additional 2 sq ft of rainforest will be protected.
Plant it in the magical Rainbow Cup and you'll get a beautiful rainbow while it's flowering. « This is how the Rainbow Butterpillaflora looks while attracting butterflies. |
